00:REM:Ctrl Cherry Cheese Bars

05: TYPE: BASE
10: 1 cup walnuts
20: 1 1/4 cups flour
30: 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
40: 1/2 cup butter
50: 1/2 cup flaked coconut

60: READ: Heat oven to 350
65: READ: Grease 13x9x2" pan
70: READ: Chop 1/2 cup nuts coarsely
75: READ: Reserve remaining nuts for topping, chopped very fine.
80: REM: FOR BASE:

85: READ: Combine flour and brown sugar in large bowl.
90: READ: Cut in butter until fine crumbs form.
95: READ: Add 1/2 cup walnuts and coconut.
100: READ: Mix well.
105: READ: Save out 1/2 cup for topping.
110: READ: Press remaining mixture in pan.
120: READ: Bake 15 minutes.

200: TYPE: FILLING
260: 2 packages softened cream cheese
270: 2/3 cup white sugar
280: 2 eggs
290: 2 teaspoon vanilla
300: 1 can cherry pie filling (or any flavor)

310: REM: For filling:
315: READ: Combine cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla in small bowl.
320: READ: Beat at medium speed until blended.
325: READ: Spread over hot baked base.
330: READ: Return to oven and bake additional 15 minutes.
335: READ: Spread cherry pie filling over cheese layer.
340: READ: Combine reserved chopped nuts and crumbs.
345: READ: Sprinkle over pie filling layer.
350: READ: Return to oven and bake another 15 minutes.
355: READ: Cool in pan on rack.
360: READ: Refrigerate several hours.
365: READ: Cut into 2 x 1-1/2 inch bars.

400: REM: Makes 3 dozen bars.
