10: 3/4 cup Crisco
20: 2 cups sifted brown sugar
30: 2 egg yolks
40: 1 tablespoon soda
50: 1-1/4 cups sour milk
60: 1 teaspoon vanilla
70: 2-1/3 cup flour
80: 1 tablespoon baking soda
90: 1 teaspoon each of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg
100: walnuts
110: 3/4 teaspoon salt |

120: READ: Dissolve soda in milk
125: READ: Cream shortening and brown sugar
130: READ: Add egg yolks and milk w/soda
135: READ: Add vanilla
140: READ: Sift flour with spices and soda and salt.
145: READ: Gradually add to the liquid ingredients, mixing between each addition.
150: READ: Blend till smooth.
155: READ: Stir in nuts
160: READ: Pour into 9x12 cake loaf pan200: TYPE: ICING
210: READ: Beat 2 egg whites slowly
215: READ: Add 1 cup sifted brown sugar
220: READ: Beat till well mixed
225: READ: Spread over RAW cake batter
230: READ: Sprinkle with 1/2 cup nuts.
235: READ: Bake in moderate oven (350) 40-50 minutes. |
